Classification of RPD

Classification of partially edentulous arches:
Cummeer's classification:
Position of the direct retainer( diagonally, unilateral Or multilateral)

Bailyn classification:
a) Tissue borne prosth.
b) Tooth borne prosth.
c) Tooth-tissue borne prosth.


Friedman's classification:
a) Anterior restoration.
b) Bounded posterior restoration.
c) Cantilever restoration.

Kennedy's classification:
1- class I :
Bilateral edentulous areas located posterior to the remaining natural teeth.
2- class II :
Unilateral edentulous area located posterior to the remaining natural teeth.
3- class III :
Unilateral edentulous area with natural teeth. both anterior & posterior to it.
4- class IV :
Single, bilateral edentulous areas located anterior to the remaining natural teeth.
